Our Mission for a Sustainable Future

 Reducing Emissions and Environmental Impact

Carbon Management

Ensuring sustainability, effective carbon management stands as a crucial aspect in the realm of construction practices. At MLS, we implement measures to reduce our carbon footprint, such as using low-emission vehicles and equipment, optimising our transport routes and minimising waste. We also use sustainable materials whenever possible, such as recycled aggregates and sustainable timber.

We recognise the importance of resource and energy efficiency in sustainable construction. We aim to reduce our energy consumption by using energy-efficient equipment, implementing
energy-saving measures in our offices and yards and promoting sustainable practices among our staff.

We recognise the importance of resource and energy efficiency in sustainable construction. We aim to reduce our energy consumption by using energy-efficient equipment, implementing energy-saving measures in our offices and yards and promoting sustainable practices among our staff.

We also take pollution prevention seriously at MLS. We implement measures to minimise our impact on the environment, such as using spill kits on our vehicles and equipment, properly disposing of waste materials and using sustainable cleaning products. We also educate our staff on pollution prevention and regularly review our practices to ensure we are meeting our environmental goals.

Environmental training

We believe that environmental training is crucial in achieving sustainability. We provide our staff with regular training on environmental issues and best practices, including pollution prevention, waste management, and resource efficiency. This helps to ensure that our staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to minimise our environmental impact.

Legal Compliance

MLS Legal compliance - man looking at document holding a pen

We are committed to complying with all relevant legislation and regulations related to environmental management. Legal procedures are in place to protect our world and ensure we operate in a manner that protects our world. We regularly review our practices and procedures to ensure that we are meeting our legal obligations and minimising our impact on the environment.

We prioritise the health and safety of our staff, clients, and the general public. We implement strict health and safety measures on all of our projects and provide our staff with regular training on health and safety best practices.

Environmental Accreditation (UK)

One way in which we ensure that we operate in a sustainable manner is by acquiring environmental accreditation.

MLS is currently working towards a CHAS accreditation. This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to sustainable construction and groundwork and our dedication to continually improving our environmental performance.

CHAS is the UK’s leading provider of compliance and risk management solutions. With award-winning solutions this help contractors (suppliers) and clients (buyers) ensure supply chain compliance, mitigate risks and support efficient supply chain management.

The future of construction

The resources we use must not cause unnecessary harm to our world. Sustainable construction and groundwork can help conserve natural resources such as water, energy and raw materials. This is important because these resources are finite and their availability is becoming increasingly scarce.

Sustainable practices can help to reduce the industry’s dependence on these resources and minimise waste.

Saving costs is important for us as well as our clients. Sustainable construction and groundwork can lead to cost savings in the long run. For example, incorporating energy-efficient designs and materials can lead to reduced energy bills and lower maintenance costs. This can also help companies to be more competitive in the market.
